In the United States, we're seeing the reverse side of a trend of outsourcing that started ~10 years ago. Companies are choosing to spend their money in the United States instead of trying to outsource it to companies in poorer markets. In the field of web development, I'm seeing case after case where businesses have grown tired of being burned trying to utilize cheap overseas workers. Unfortunately, these businesses often have to pay an upfront premium to return this work. This is because in trying to save money, these companies have paid developers to build snowballs instead of sleds.
